The Bafang mid drive motor kit is a popular ebike conversion kit, which we have been supplying since 2014. This tried and tested ebike kit is well regarded within the ebike community, with spare parts and installation / maintenance information readily available online.

The Bafang BBS01B 36V 250 watt mid drive motor kit offers a good combination of strong torque, high efficiency with low power consumption and noise output. The motors central mounting position results in a balanced low center of gravity, with power output transferred through the bikes drivechain, meaning the motor can operate within its optimum RPM range.

The Bafang kits we supply are the newest version available, with dedicated light and gear shift sensor connectors.

Additional Info:

The Bafang conversion kits can be fitted to standard bike frames, through a simple installation process. The donor bike should have a standard bottom bracket width between 68-73mm (not exceeding 73mm), with an inside diameter of approximately 33.6mm - 33.9mm. Longer bolts and washers are included for bikes with a 73mm bottom bracket shell. Carbon frame bikes would likely not be compatible with the Bafang mid drive motor kits, due to increased shell thickness.

The Bafang kit is supplied with a 44T, 46T or 48T tooth single chain ring, so if your bike has a front derailleur it will not be required. 

The supplied brake cutoff levers are cable operated, so will not be compatible with hydraulic brakes. Should you require hydraulic brake sensors including with the kit, please select this option from the drop down list.

We add additional high quality Mobil SHC 100 Synthetic Red Lithium Grease to the secondary reduction gears before dispatching motor kits.

I bought the Bafang bbs01b 36v 250w motor kit and a 14.5AH Hailong battery for my Specialized Crosstrail Pro hybrid bike. The fitting of the kit was painless. I use the power assist without the supplied throttle and get an impressive range between charges. Dealings with Eclipsebikes has been excellent. I ordered the motor on a Wednesday and it arrived midday Friday and was fitted to the bike on Saturday morning. So first off thank you Eclipsebikes for this excellent service. Communication was good and included a link to fitting instructions and a download of the display manual. I have fitted a hub motor to a tandem before so have some experience with conversions. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the kit, in particular the water proof wiring connections and the replacement brake levers (containing cut off sensors) which were head and shoulders above the quality of those supplied with the hub kit from a different supplier. I was converting an old 1990's racing bicycle which I had previously changed to straight bars and twist shifters. The conversion was actually really straightforward. However like most tasks of this kind its important to have the correct, decent quality tools. Its crucial in my opinion to have the special Bafang motor spanner to fit the main nut and lo
